Monster
Monster.com wanted to make a splash during the 2015 Super Bowl...I mean "The Big Game." But they didn't want to spend $4.5 million. They didn't want to spend anything, actually. Posted immediately after the game, some people were at first confused, because Seattle lost at the last second. But when they clicked and saw the joke. And they loved it. Not to mention over 1500% growth in mentions of Monster in a single day.
Adweek called it a 'masterpiece of Twitter trolling' Digiday said it was 'one of the 5 best Super Bowl brand moments.' And ad peeps across the globe gave it Clios, Addys, Sharks, etc.
